Alison has been practicing as a psychologist for fourteen years and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society. She has worked in private practice for six years in the Northern Illawarra area. She has also worked for twenty years in a variety of welfare positions for the Department of Family and Community Services and non-government agencies such as Catholic Care.
Alison has experience working with children, adults, families and couples. She uses Cognitive Behaviour Therapeutic techniques, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness and Solution Focused Brief Therapeutic techniques to make a positive difference to people’s lives. Psychological services include counselling to people with mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety, addictions, eating, sexuality and developmental disorders. Alison also helps clients with relationship problems, loss and grief issues, pain, sleeping difficulties, weight control problems, children’s challenging behaviour, lifestyle coaching, psychometric assessments, and legal reports and workers compensation issues. She has experience working with forensic clients, people with an intellectual disability and Autism Spectrum Disorders and providing staff training in these areas. She also provides supervision to Intern psychologists in order to achieve registration.
